Raja Gidh Novel Summary & Review:

The main themes of the Raja Gidh novel are “rizq-e-haram” and “ishq-e-lahasil”. It shows us that when we consume haram rizk, it not only affects us but also damages our upcoming generations.

The novel revolves around a young man named Qayyum, a young girl named Seemi, and her cousin Aftab. Qayyum is intelligent, educated, and comes from a decent family. On the surface, he seems like a normal person, but deep inside, he is struggling with Haram desires he cannot control.

On the other side, Seemi is a beautiful and innocent girl who becomes part of Qayyum’s life. There is also Aftab, Seemi’s cousin, who truly loves her. All three characters are students in the same college. Qayyum loves Seemi, but Seemi loves Aftab.

In the whole story, Bano Qudsia beautifully explained that when people consume haram, whether it is money or forbidden relationships, it affects their genes and causes mental problems in future generations. This genetic damage leads to an intense kind of madness where people desire things they can never have, and this unfulfilled desire destroys them.

The writer beautifully portrayed human beings and vultures in a parallel story. It shows that when we cross moral boundaries, we become like vultures who feeds on dead and rotten things instead of seeking what is pure and good.

The relationships in the Raja Gidh novel are painful but thought-provoking. Qayyum develops feelings that he knows are wrong, but he cannot control them. These feelings were not entirely his fault; they were partly inherited from his father’s wrong actions. Seemi, who is innocent and kind, gets caught in this web of madness and suffers greatly. Aftab, who loves Seemi purely and truly, watches helplessly as things fall apart.
